Extra Activities
"Movement is the key to learning."
Additional activities enrich a preschooler’s learning experience by fostering creativity, curiosity, and personal growth.
Whether through art, music, physical movement, or hands-on experiments, these activities help children develop essential skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and self-expression. They also boost confidence, improve focus, and nurture a love for discovery, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

Capoeira
Capoeira offers our children a host of benefits by blending physical activity, music, and playful interaction.
This dynamic, no-contact martial art enhances coordination, balance, and motor skills through rhythmic movements and acrobatics.
It promotes teamwork and social interaction as children work together, fostering cooperation and respect.
Additionally, the musical component improves listening skills and rhythm, while the playful nature builds confidence and self-expression.
Music & Movement
Music and movement are essential for preschoolers as they enhance physical development and coordination through active engagement.
Movement to music also promotes social skills, as children learn to collaborate and communicate while dancing or playing together.
Additionally, music and movement support cognitive development by improving memory and listening skills through rhythm and melodies.

Yoga
Yoga is a practice that combines gentle physical movement, mindful breathing, and relaxation techniques to promote balance, flexibility, and calmness.
At our preschool, a certified instructor incorporates age-appropriate yoga activities to support children’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Through playful poses and breathing exercises, children improve their strength, coordination, and focus while learning to manage emotions and reduce stress.
Yoga fosters self-awareness, confidence, and a sense of inner peace. It’s a wonderful tool that helps children thrive, both inside and outside the classroom!
Dance
Dance is a joyful way for children to express themselves while building coordination, rhythm, and physical fitness.
At Maple Tree Montessori International Preschool, we offer an age-appropriate dance class that combines movement, music, and creativity.

Through structured routines and free expression, children develop motor skills, body awareness, and self-confidence.
Dance also encourages teamwork, discipline, and a love for the arts. It’s a fun and engaging way for kids to channel their energy, explore their creativity, and gain skills that benefit their overall development!

Other Activities
We also offer other engaging activities, each one on a monthly basis, that nurture creativity, curiosity, and global awareness.
Culinary workshops allow children to explore the joy of cooking while learning about nutrition and diverse cuisines.
Through art exploration, kids unleash their imagination, develop fine motor skills, and express themselves creatively.
Cultural immersion introduces children to traditions, languages, and customs from around the world, fostering open-mindedness and respect for diversity.
Hands-on experiments spark curiosity and critical thinking, making science fun and interactive.
Forest School
Every two weeks, children have the option to participate in a Forest School class in a nearby nature reserve with forestry experts who, under close supervision, introduce them to the basics of using tools like axes & knives, starting a fire or recognising different animals and plants.
The class helps children develop resilience, problem-solving skills, and independence as they navigate nature’s challenges, from climbing trees to building shelters. The unstructured play and exploration encourage creativity and curiosity while enhancing their connection to the natural world.
Activities like digging and balancing help build fine and gross motor skills, while the calming effects of nature promote emotional well-being and reduce stress.
